Mastering for Vinyl

While the vinyl record is still very much alive today, many vinyl records today are being made from CD Masters, and to truly take advantage of what vinyl has to offer as a medium, a different pre-master should be used to cut laquers which maintain a larger degree of dynamic range.  The most obvious distraction away from pursuing this approach is cost:  With two sets of masters you end up with double costs of mastering (one for the CD Master and one for the Vinyl Pre-Master).

MWM offers a unique approach to deliver vinyl while maintaining a eye on today's budgets.

What we do:

Within our system, we can stem one source in the analog domain through EQ/Compression/Limiting while stemming another source through EQ/Compression.  Both sources are captured in real-time at 24-96, with destination one becoming your CD Master and destination two becoming your Vinyl Pre-Master.

The Vinyl Pre-Master can then be used to create a higher-fidelity laquer cut, and thereby a better sounding record, all without duplicating mastering costs.
